Bree Allingham-MacLaren is a freelance writer who likes to write about gender inequality and mental health, among other things. Lauren Aurelius is a freelance writer, editor and artist crafting her own peculiar brand of magic from the shadows of the Glasshouse Mountains. Her work will often unsettle you. Vivienne Coburn is an eclectic writer who aims to incorporate her love of history and the arts into her big, fat cauldron of wickedness. She likes bright lights, shiny things and someday dreams of becoming fully nocturnal. Wanda Deglane is a freshman at Arizona State University, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Her ultimate goals are to mend families, inspire as many people as she can, and be inspired. She is the daughter of Peruvian immigrants and lives with her huge family in Glendale, Arizona. When she isn’t writing, she paints and spends time with her dog, Princess Leia. Roseanne Dertadian is a budding writer and English Major at Macquarie University. She enjoys reading, Tea and Greyhounds. She is currently writing a novel. Chloe Earles is a second year writing student at QUT. She spends her time looking for ugly Christmas sweaters and writing Australian gothic novels. Gemma Elsom is an independent dabbler. Lucia Hosking is a high school teacher and new mum; a shameless extrovert who loves books and writing about faith, culture, and the migrant experience. Lec Hunter (Lec Lion) is a queer poet based in Melbourne, who also writes prose and is interested in writing theatre, too. Lec has performed at Fringe Festivals and been a regular contributor to Phantasmagoria Magazine, she’s also been told she has a great jawline, which is a favourite compliment. In 2016 Lec did a spoken word spot with Myriad Collective which was terrifying but also really awesome. Currently Lec is working on a novel and a poetry zine, one or both of which will hopefully exist by the end of 2017 as well as completing a long and drawn out uni degree. From Vancouver (Canada), she is on a four-year exchange program through The University of British Columbia, studying Creative Writing. She has little publication experience, but performed a public reading of her poems “Vineyard” and “Genevieve from Geneva” at a bookstore in Edinburgh, while living there for ten months. She misses her terrier, Donald, everyday, and hopes to finish her first novel by the end of 2017. Maggie Jankuloska is a Macedonian-born and Melbourne-based writer, teacher, and book hoarder. This sees her writing at strange hours, drinking lots of tea, and loving the chaos that fuels good fiction. @hmacgierhart Tania Marlowe is a Sydney-based writer. She mostly writes flash fiction, which is either a testament to her ability for brevity, or more likely a side effect of her short attention span. Erin McWhinney is a Melbourne-based writer and editor. She works in educational publishing and as a freelance editor, and writes fiction on the train. Elanah Merheb is a 19-year-old, vegan uni student, currently completing her degree in primary education. She is an amateur writer who enjoys writing songs and fiction novels in her spare time. When she’s not writing, you can find her singing or babysitting. Antonina Mikocka is a Melbourne-based psychologist, health scientist, and writer. She was born in Poland and moved to Australia in her mid twenties. She has been writing fairy tales, fantasy and science fiction for as long as she can remember. Her creative writing for children was published by Polish periodicals. In English, she has published nearly 100 research papers in international and national journals, but also numerous short stories for adults. Recently, her historical piece, Secrets, set during the Warsaw Uprising of 1944 has won The Birdcatcher Books Magazine Submissions Competition. Susannah O'Neill is a Brisbane based poet with coloured hair and few achievements. She can be lured in with coffee, old vinyls, and abstract poetry. She writes at night. Leo Porter has just completed his first year at QUT studying a dual degree of Law and Creative Industries. His interests lie mainly in writing poetry and reading everything. Gabby Rankin is a creative writing student from Brisbane. Andrea Rivera studies creative writing & public relations at the Queensland University of Technology, where she spends her time getting lost in familiar cities, not sleeping, & writing. From an early age, David Rodríguez was attracted to the art world, but his love for photography didn´t start until 2013— the year he bought his first reflex camera. Shortly afterwards, he began to train himself through several courses. While studying, he discovered new photographers including Guy Bourdin and a photo that fascinated him enormously. In the picture, there was a girl under the water with her eyes and mouth open. David was enthralled with this image instantly, and used it as inspiration for the “Fresh” series. He did the shooting for “Fresh” taking advantage of a summer day in which the sun was at its peak. Sean West is a Brisbane creative writing student, a regular performer at Ruckus and has featured in IBIS, The Tundish Review and QUT Inklings zine. He can be found @ theseshadowsbite.wordpress.com. Harlan Yarbrough is a mathematician, who works primarily as a full-time professional entertainer. Repeated flights from the entertainment industry have brought work as a librarian, physics teacher, city planner and other occupations. Harlan emigrated to New Zealand in the 1990s but returns to the US to perform. |
